Just another point I was discussing with colleagues - it seems both sides underestimated the appeal of Simionist/MEGA politics to Moldovans both at home and - as you point out - in the diaspora. It seems many were unhappy with how the Romanian presidential contest worked out and it has galvanized them into paranoid conspiratorial thinking. It will be interesting to see whether this kind of politics grows in strength and whether the mainstream opposition ever adapt. I guess we'll know if that's happened when Igor Dodon gets a Charlie Kirk tattoo .....

We'll have to get a little more information to dig into this. But I do think that the Simion / Sandu battle was a wedge issue for some segment of the Moldovan diaspora in Western Europe. I'll dig into this more in a future article for sure.

You're probably exhausted and didn't want to include it but, just in case, any potential major challenges for PAS in the next few months?

There are, but nothing wildly urgent. A government needs to be formed, priorities set, etc. For a while though things will likely be interesting but there will also be a little space to rest (which I will do now :)

Sounds like the Iasi call center might have been for PPDA (and traced back to Kremlin-linked companies and operators), if I'm reading ZdG investigation correctly

Interesting, I'll have to look into that more. I understood it to be Patriot bloc actually.

I saw a post on Facebook where Vasile Costiuc was referred to as "Temu Plaha" 🙂
