Hi Moldova Matters readers! I’m on vacation this week so there won’t be a standard Weekly Roundup. I’ll be back early next week to catch you up on all the top news updates.

In all seriousness, the drumbeat of news and propaganda is rapidly accelerating. Plaha is back (on facebook) and somehow wants us to believe that he’s a victim in all of this… and that he meant to be caught? Disinformation is accelerating and the recent MEGA conference¹ has highlighted just how transnational this all is. Moldova’s elections and the importance of them being free and fair are a global news story. We’ll cover each twist and turn through election day.

But for now, I’m going to try and enjoy some sun and sea in a little “calm before the storm” break. Thanks as always for being a subscriber and for buying into the premise of this publication - that Moldova really does Matter.

It’s stunning how no one thought of a better answer to the question of “who paid for all of this” than the stumbling, blubbering responses that person after person gave.
