The MEGA conference framing as astroturfing captures what makes these operations tricky to counter. I worked with a group tracking similar campaigns a couple years back, and the "burner site" detail with lorem ipsum placeholders is such a tell. When political theater gets packaged with that level of slopiness, it's both amateurish and effective at the same time, becuase most people dunno to look past the surface noise.
Hi Neural(?) - you're very right. I think that the issue we have to contend with is that it's just as put together as it needs to be for their purpose. So while it might be sloppy, it does the job. In a sense they are preaching to their own choir in the MAGA / MEGA world and their useful idiots, fellow travelers or outright paid agents will spread a message far and wide with no one bothering to check the site and see the lorem ipsum :/
Delighted to hear that Moldova is feeling stronger and more confident after all it has been through. I wish I could say I look forward to welcoming Moldova into the EU but maybe it will be the other way around!
